CPU/Chip License Model (machine-based): Licenses the entire machine for both internal and external (internet) users. The number of users is limited only by the capacity of the licensed machine. SQL Anywhere is an iAnywhere product, therefore all of the CPU CHIPS on the machine must be licensed.
Purchasing Guidelines:
Purchase one SQL Anywhere 1 Chip License (CH) for each CPU CHIP on the machine.
Examples:
Single-core machine example: To license 2 single-core machines with 4 CPU CHIPS each, 8 Chip Licenses (CH) must be purchased (2 machines x 4 CHIPS each).
Multi-core machine example: To license 2 dual-core machines with 4 CPU CHIPS each, 8 Chip Licenses (CH) must be purchased (2 machines x 4 CHIPS each).
Networked Server/Seat Model: Licenses a Server and Networked Seats for internal use only. The Networked Server/Seat Model requires the purchase of one Server License (SR) where a copy of the program is installed and the purchase of the required number of Networked Seat Licenses (ST). A Server is a single machine with any number of processors.
Purchasing Guidelines:
Select a SQL Anywhere Edition/Base Package with the appropriate number of users.
Examples:
SQL Anywhere 5 User
SQL Anywhere Workgroup 5 User
SQL Anywhere Workgroup 10 User
SQL Anywhere Standard 5 User
SQL Anywhere Advanced 25 User
Standalone Seat License (SS): The Standalone Seat License (SS) permits the use of a copy of the Program on one Seat, a single workstation on which the program resides.
