The Sybase IQ Real-Time Loading Solution will move you beyond nightly batch loads to continuous loads throughout the day, delivering ASE operational system changes to your Sybase IQ analytics server within minutes of the source transaction change. This solution combines Sybase’s proven and market-leading set of products with the implementation expertise of Sybase Professional Services to deliver fast time-to-value.

Identify the data source(s) and target Sybase IQ environment and establish appropriate DEVELOPMENT/TEST type technical infrastructure to deploy solution.

Install solution components
|
Install PowerDesigner, Replication Server, and ASE into appropriate host servers. Installing and deploying the source database and target IQ servers are outside the scope of this solution—they must be in place ahead of this engagement. No services are provided for existing Replication Server(s) aside from those strictly necessary to enable this solution.

Assess source schema for Real Time
Loading (RTL) Compatibility
|
Certain datatypes are not supported by the Real Time Loading infrastructure.
For the Adaptive Server Enterprise source database, all simple datatypes other than the TEXT and IMAGE datatypes are supported. In addition, nchar and nvarchar datatypes need special handling—while the timestamp datatype loses semantic relevance. Complex datatypes are not currently supported.

Initial synchronization of data required before Real Time data movement begins. Due to time constraint, up to 50 GB of data may be materialized.
